Uh-oh, confession time! I have only cracked open the Yancey book to glance over the chapter titles. But I am a long time fan of his works, so I am looking forward to the prayer book.
Regarding the stack in this picture: The Bible is a contstant read; I have fniished the Elizabeth George book; everything else I read in short snatches when I have time, choosing whichever best suits my mood. The Lamott book is a re-read. Her content and voice always inspire me, so I try to ingest a little each week. The Karon book is the next stop in the Mitford series which I began reading a year ago. Updike is my effort to gain familiarity with a 20th century “great.”
